The pictures in this section represent two parts of the entire mural. Versions of the Manub and Kilibob story were tape recorded and collected over time as oral histories. The story is about two brothers - Manub, who gives laws to all men and Kilibob who gives the laws of marks and carvings. Before painting, panels were assembled onto a large section of the wall. The outlay of the painting was established and gradually the story and painting began to take shape. Rosalie worked at the college during the day then drove into town to work on the mural at night and on weekends. People would visit to say hi or see if she wanted any help and she would let them in with her own set of the bank keys - generally she had the place to herself with the family dog, Husky. Unfortunately, no color photographs of each completed part of the painting or of the piece as a whole have been found. The mural is still at the bank in Madang, Papua New Guinea although it is no longer the Commonwealth Bank. Hopefully better images can be obtained in the future. The two segments of the paintings represented here were photographed by Rosalie's son Otto Christensen after returning to Madang, Papua New Guinea to visit friends and climb volcanoes.
