The above photo of Rose's children and friends was taken in the 1960's. Otto is the one with his leg sticking out and Ana is sitting in the tire with a tutu on.

On behalf of my brother Otto and myself, thank you for visiting and we hope you enjoy this website.

Sharing Rosalie's story and work has been an interesting decision. Much thought and time has gone into representing her legacy and it remains an ongoing process.

I believe mum's work illustrates that expression and creativity are beneficial and necessary, whether a person has talent or just the opportunity and encouragement to express themselves in their own way. The process itself has value and is positive for many reasons.

Unfortunately, the great impact her talent and drive made on her life was equally countered by severe illness and loneliness.

In some respects mum's life was a difficult and solitary existence and I don't believe her work can be looked at outside of that context. I feel she would not have survived for so long without a potent will to create for its own sake. Perhaps her sense of isolation and lack of intimacy contributed to her health problems. She did not distinguish and find balance between a personal life and a creative one. Much of her life mirrored these conflicts.

Since her death looking at her work and sorting through her things has been difficult and therapeutic - something many people will quietly understand.

After her father Bern died in 2001 we took their ashes out to sea and scattered them back to what they both believed was the place of origin - the ocean.

Thank you's and much gratitude to: Andrew Bett, Bern and Carmelita, Dr. Tom Cummings, William Miller, Dee Dee Coppedge, Dr Lori Teagno, Mike Esordi, Bill Bennett, Irene Sutherland, Creg Johnson, Yvette Lange, San Diego Hospice, Mercy Hospital, American Cancer Society

Thank you for visiting

Kind Regards,
Ana Christensen
